Charles & Hulda Owen

Charles was born to John Cameron Owen and Mary Ann (Darrough) Owen in Macon, Illinois in 1870.

John and Mary Ann came to Macon IL in 1865 from Greene County, Indiana. Where subsequently they had 7 children and raised them in Macon county.

My Uncle Charlie and Aunt Huldie were farmers and lived just across the bridge from Arkansas City, Kansas most of there life. I think perhaps Uncle Charlie must have worked when he lived in Macon. Because as I was growing up they always lived on the farm in Kansas but in about 1937 they moved back to Peoria, Illinois. I was told they moved there because that was the only place where they could live and get a social security check for their retirement. We visited them several times in Peoria before they died.
